Cordless mouse problem

I'm using the Logitech cordless desktop combination (EX-110) on my system which is now just under 3 months old. The mouse has just started playing up - if I lift the mouse off the pad the pointer freezes and the red light underneath goes off. I then have to press the 'connect' button to get it working again. Have the batteries gone flat already?

Tempted to ditch the cordless setup because I don't want to have to deal with the unreliability.

Yeah, batteries are dead. Get some new ones and you will be fine.

My mouse just last 1 month but its from the old version which doesn't turn off. Buy some rechargeable batteries.

Thanks for the replies. I've decided it's not worth the hassle and unreliability, and have switched back to a proper mouse.
