at the mo i have a g5, and im really getting p'd off with it cos its wired! Its effecting my aim because i have to keep tugging on it to give me more lead! so im selling this on the bay and going for cordless. i am just worried that cordless is dodgy for FAST gaming so my q is this.. Is their any difference in wired and wireless when it comes to fps gaming?

i want to get the MX1000 because you can recharge it without messing about with the batteries.. and because its cordeless... and sexy compared to my ugly g5

OK I'm no expert on mice but have had plenty, ball, optical, lazer (including the MX1000) corded or cordless and I've just bought the best mouse I've ever used and it's corded (razer copperhead).

Cordless just seem kinda 'vauge' somehow as if there's a nanosecond delay in the signal compared to corded ones, dunno though it could just be me..

The battery life is good on the MX1000 (lasts almost a week without charge) but it is quite heavy and that's where the trouble is for me as batteries increase the weight of a mouse. I prefer a lighter mouse (I feel I can turn and aim quicker as there's less weight to move about)

Look around here for other 'mouse' threads, I think you will find the MX1000 has a lot of fans but is not a 'gamers' mouse

If you do get one, buy some extra pads/feet (OC sell them) as one of mine split and another fell off. Also when I got it, it rocked slightly if on a flat hard surface (the pads are not positioned symetrically underneath) but I've not heard anyone else mention this so I must have been unlucky

If you're a gamer though seriously consider the copperhead

Oh and a tip with corded mice, anchor the cord on the edge of the desk with a weight and leave enough cord to make a circle just before the pad (if you use one) - you can then easily move the mouse back and forth with no tugging

i might consider one of these copperheads. I used a microsoft basic optical wheel mouse for so many years, and changing from that to my g5 was a bit hard to get used to because of the weight difference. Strapping the cord to the desk worked a treat, nice one

my favourite mouse is also corded - the mx518. its perfect, all except for the weight. its too light for me (ham fists), but im working on that

I was almost attached to my MX510 but then got an MX1000 of M&M last year.
A fantastic mouse in every way and i play a serious amount of games. There is no lag whatsoever. The size of it is perfect for me but then i do have large hands.
Over a thousand hours of BF2, countless hours of Source, COD2, AoE3.
Never once have i blamed mouse lag on any anamoly or dodgey kill. Sighting and button assignment along with location makes this the perfect mouse for me.
I Highly recommend the MX1000.

I use an MX1000 too, and when I play games I've never noticed any lag or anything like that. I didn't find any with my MX700 either. I think a lot of it is people expect lag with a cordless mouse, so when they don't get any, they just imagine it anyway.
