just wondering if its worth it over the 6300 i have the money for the 6600 works out about 80 more to my spec up what do you lot think?

depends if you have overclocked your 6300 or not and what you use it for. if you 6300 is over 2.6 then it is roughly the same as the 6600 at stock. im going to go from a 6400 to a 6700 next year but unless you feel that something is specifically slow because the cpu is holding it back i would not rush to upgrade. you can however get good money for your 6300. i just sold one for 90 quid on a popular auction site.

sorry i should have been more clear, i mean im about to order C2D i have the money for a 6600 just wondered if it was worth it over the 6300

NOt really.

If you have the money then the extra cache is nice.

But the 6300 when overclocked is a cracking cpu and will see 3.4ghz with a mobo like a ds3 without issue.

so the 6600 is the best option ? over all for money (bang per buck)

I would have thought the 6300 is better value - £85 cheaper than the 6600 for retail version and these clock almost as good if not better than the 6600's.

cant member what the stats are buy it Something like, 6600 is 60% more expensive for 30% more performance - someone posted it anyway... but i mean e6600 is lovely - but you have to really consider if you need the power - i mean like - your probably gonna upgrade to the next cpu after the same amount of time anyway so if you need the cash there is by no means nothing wrong with the e6300, although e6600 does carry a bit more bragging power :)

oh.. in my opinion anyhow
