Hi All,

My Abit P35 motherboard has died and I need a new one. I notice that P35 boards are no longer available. Will the P43 boards work with a core 2 duo CPU ? The Asus P5QL Pro for example ?

Finally, anyone got any good recommendations ?

Thank you !

I know its madness, but for £12 more you could get this. Just a thought, only really worth it if you plan on overclocking, RAIDing or crossfiring - but it sure is a sweet board.

If you need to save the cash, the Gigabyte P43 has my vote.

Yeh the foxxconn for the price is a very very nice mobo, but the original poster would have to get DDR3 ram too, but 2x1gig kits are under £30 so thats not to bad i guess lol.

Fair play, that would indeed push the price up.

Another awesome (if slightly over budget) option is this (Asus P5Q Pro Turbo P45 DDR2). It has most of the features of the Foxconn (minus the x16x16 crossfire and DDR3 support), plus its newer tech and uses the brilliant ICH10 southbridge. For the extra £20 quid over the gigabyte P43 - I believe it is worth it (so long as you plan to use some of the cracking features).
