Core 2 duo core disabled

not sure how or why but i have noticed that one of my cores isn't working and says its disabled?

Bios is all set to enable both cores so not sure what has happened

so any ideas lads?

Try and do somehting that use both cores?

Run something heavy and try settings the processor affinity.

can you run say super pi 8 meg while the intel app is open to see what if anything changes ?

also do you have any other power saving features enabled ?

I have to agree a non working core seems very odd

What does task manager show! you should have 2 cpu charts.

It's quite clearly on some sort of power saving mode. Note the FSB that it is running and what is expected. Change your settings in Power Management.

well a bit strange this, task manager is showing one core only
power plan is set to full power, ran msconfig but couldn't see anything out of place. device manager shows dual core. not sure what else i could try?

i'm hoping i've just disabled one core? some how

eist and c1e don't disable cores.
Is your os set to ACPI multiprocessor pc ( computer tab under device manager )?
If it is, then I really have no idea :s.

Sorted it ran msconfig, and set startup selection to normal startup:
