I just received my E6600 cpu and the FPO# is L632B086

Does this mean week 32, B batch?

Does anyone know how these do for overclocking?

The Pack Date says: 12/05/06 (Is this dd/mm/yy?)

Wasn't after a competitor m8, just curious if ocuk had this stepping in stock.

GL with the overclock, report back plz ;)

I managed to OC to 3.6ghz 400fsbx9 @ 1.4V but it failed orthos after 3 seconds.

I tried 3.2ghz 400x8 @ 1.4v and it seemed fine. I think my cpu needs more volts for 3.6ghz...

I'm back to 3ghz 333fsb for now...

BIOS is 0614, should I upgrade?

Uh what Mobo is it you're running? Isn't it always standard procedure to never flash a new BIOS unless you have issues with the one that you currenlty are running? If alls stable why risk it?

Asus P5B Deluxe. Anyway, I just flashed it to 0910, successful! :D

Damn it, I can boot into windows at 1.4V 400fsb, 3.6ghz, but I get an error in orthos after a few seconds...

I've tried loosening my RAM timings and increasing the NB, SB, FSB Voltages...

I've tried increasing the voltage to 1.5V and it still fails orthos...Not to mention, my load temps are too high at this voltage, around 68C TAT, 70C+ in speedfan

What cooling are you using? You gotta bring that OC down dude. too hot

I'm using a freezer 7 pro. I'm at 3.2ghz now, I think it's stable...

Tat says 55C load, ~40C Idle

Speedfan says 62C load, ~45 Idle.

I think I will try 450mhz x 8 instead of 400mhz x 9 to get 3.6ghz.

Maybe you've just gone over the limit, bro. Recommend you ease down a bit before you break something -

+400Mhz is a bit of a jump, espessially at the high end.
55C is probably as far as you want to go
Vcore is a bit high too

3.2Ghz is a wicked overclock. At this stage its just a number. There's no application out there a 3.2 Conroe won't destroy :)

Ok :D

Anyway, I'm at 3.3ghz now. TAT says 55C at load, speedfan says 65C at load. Idle is around ~40-44C. Vcore is set to 1.3375V.

I set NB, SB, FSB voltages all on auto (I seem to have more stable overclocks if I set these to auto for some reason?)

Orthos with small fft test is still running at 25 mins, no errors so far :D I'm testing in orthos for around 30mins at each fsb.

I'm at 3.42ghz now 380fsb @ 1.3875V, running orthos for 30mins...

I've reached 3.6ghz 400fsb with 1.4v but with errors in orthos.

EDIT: I pumped the cpu voltage to 1.5V and no errors in othos so far...
However, my load temps are soarching... 70C TAT, and 80C Speedfan!

I guess I'll stick to around 3.2ghz.

Which is better? 400x8 or 355x9 to get 3.2ghz
