Core 2 Duo second core not working?

finished my pc couple of days ago and went to benchmark today on cinebench and only the 1 core option is available, also tried 3dmax and on the cpu test i get 1fps and only around 35 on the gpu test,
intel core2duo e6600
evga nforce 680
bfg geforce 8800
2gb corsair dominator pc2-6400
also i checked in bios and th 2nd cor is enabled does anyone know whats going on?? :confused:
