Hey all

Probably help if i tell you what ive got in mind:

e6300 or 6400 w Scythe Ninja :D
2GB Geil PC6400
1x EVGA 7900GTX (with possibility of a second)

I want the possibility of putting in a second 7900gtx at some time in the not too distant future and wanted some opinions on which mobo to go for.

The DS4 is awesome for OCing the 6300 (i see elsewhere on this forum) and it says dual PCI-e x16 but not SLI; n00b question but is SLI supported on these?

Also ive read that the nForce 590 SLI boards r crap for OCing the Conroes so what options do i have?

The DS4 does not support SLi
The Asus P5N32-SLi SE Deluxe nForce4 SLi X16 (Socket 775) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-174-AS) is the only board around at the moment that supporst SLi as far as i know.

so what is the second PCI-e slot for, as it doesnt say crossfire compatible either? Should i wait for the new 590s or should i just build a rig on DS4/P5B cos 1 7900gtx is enough?

Only boards based on the intel 975X chipset support crossfire (and SLI with modded drivers), all the 965 boards don't support crossfire or sli out of the box.
The second pci-e slot seems to be pretty useless as it has no real supported function today. It seems to be a 16x slot but I am not sure how many pci-e lanes they have assigned to it. It might be able to be used at a later time for physics calculations via an older graphics card as both Nvidia and ATI seem to be working on.
If you are not in a rush to build a new machine, wait a few weeks for the 590/570 boards to appear in the market and see how they are performance wise vs the current 965/975x boards.
