Hello,

Right. So everyone has been waiting for the EVGA nForce 680 for SLi and Core 2 Duo support. But like thats been around for ages...

Asus:
P5N32-SLI Premium/WiFi-AP
P5NSLI
P5ND2-SLI Deluxe
P5N32-SLI Deluxe
P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe

So like, why has everyone been waiting for this board? some of those asus boards above (not sure if they all have, cba to check) have dual x16 PCI-E ports  or is there some other reason everyone has been eagerly awaiting the EVGA nForce 680?? Will those boards above do SLI + Core 2 Duo properly?

yes, those mobos will do sli np, but for overclocking they are poor.

and , might i ask , why are they so poor, they include all of ASUS's OC technology and i have seem some insane overclocks on ASUS boards, not to say they are better than any other board, but at least justify what you say

Regards.

to the question on why ppl dont say or rave about this boards, yes they oc but with c2d in , i fear the mobo will be the limiting factor with low fsb oc.
nvidia chipset up untill now couldn't compete with intels own 975/965 for performance.

P5NSLI - This one is 8x in SLi and supports Core2Duo
P5ND2-SLI Deluxe - Doesn't support Core2Duo
P5N32-SLI Deluxe - Doesn't support Core2Duo
P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe - This one is 16x in SLi and supports Core2Duo

The big news about the 680 chipset is that it clocks well. It clocks as well as cheaper boards that do not support SLi.

Core2Duo has always been a source of discussion about big overclocks. The E6300 and E6400 clock almost unbelieveably well. 3GHz is easily possible almost every time. So the big buzz ghas always been to buy a cheap processor and a decent clocking motherboard and get good performance on the cheap. Plus you get the bragging rights/ePenis of having a big overclock.

In the past you always had to choose between a big overclock and SLi. Now, if you have enough money, you can have both.

Yes, the DS4 has been Crossfire enabled for quite some time now. Works well, too.
