I have a core 2 duo 2.66 Ghz chip (Conroe E6750), but CPU-z Core Speed is showing:

Does this mean that it is not running at full speed as CPU-z is showing 2Ghz? or have I got something wrong somewhere??

Thanks

Speedstep is enabled. It reduces the cpu speed and voltage to use less power when idle.
If you start a game or something that uses the cpu it will go up to it's full speed.

Ah, I see thanks for that, I was a bit out of touch when I built the machine, but needed something as mine had died

Didn't really look into it too much and built the best I could afford!

Thanks
