Core 2 quad 6850

im probably going to be one of many who say this, wait till november and get a Q6600 and get the same clock you can on the 6850 :)

and i do think the price for the 6850 goes down in november, 13, 23... something with 3 in it, cant remember

Do you actually need a Quad Core? is your E6600 @ 3.6GHz not fast enough for you? anyway i would just buy a Q6600 and OC to the same speeds and save a bit of money.

He will if he wants to Play Supremme Commander.

You can run a c2d at 4ghz, and that game can still make your pc crawl.
Quads help a lot in this case, but you still have to have the higher clocks.
 
Best get the Q6600 and overclock. Any fool can get the fastest chip and have a fast system, the trick is to get a more basic (i.e. cheaper) chip and overclock it to a higher speed.
