Core 2 Quads - Who still using them?

Q6600 @ 3.2ghz and honestly dont know if I'll ever upgrade it. Still chomps through BF3 and I imagine by the time its no good anymore my already severely dwindled interest in PCs will have vanished forever!
 
Still rocking a Q6600 @ 3.0 Ghz here. But have to say after playing some DayZ it is showing it's age. But then again everything else i throw at it runs perfectly fine.

Been trying to get a little more out of it like 3.2 Ghz but can't get it stable for the life of me on my P5Q-e board. Any of you guy's care to share your bios settings with me by any chance please? PM me may be :)
 
@Digit, I was the same. I have my 6600 sat at 3.0Ghz almost all the time as 3.2 is achievable but its not as stable as I would like it to be. It's debatable whether that extra 200 hertz would make much odds to performance anyway.

Take a look at the links in post #8 of this thread (page 1). They were in respect of a Q9550 but some most the same tweaks will apply. you should be able to get 3.2Ghz out of a Q6600 and if ur very lucky 3.6Ghz and on a CPU limited game it will make a difference.
 
I still run an Q9550(3.5) and an GTX 295 on a GA P35-DS4 mother board.
The only thing that gets me is that all 4 cores are stuck at 32-35c when they should be 10c lower.

I think 45nm C2Q had stuck sensor issue. My Q9650 idle temps always stay at 31,33,38,38. However when cpu goes under load, only then coretemp displays true temperature values
