Core 9000 series

LOL apparently at the foot of one of the slides is a disclaimer that "products used for comparison have been tested and optimised for Intel only" hahah, yeah i know AMD pull the same rubbish, but come on, quoting 10% performance increase over the previous gen?? yeah i dont think so.

lol love how the fact that $488 converted to £££ + vat somehow = £550, it's only about £100 over what it should be if you do the conversion :p

Proper prices should be (using $1.30/£1)

9900k = £450
9700k = £345
9600k = £242

I really hope that's the not the proper pricing - $480 in Pounds is approx £370, plus 20% VAT = £444, even add a bit more padding on top to make it say £480 or even at a high level £499.99 to protect against wild swings in exchange rates.... but £549.99 is crazy!
 
Well to be honest given that the price of a i7 8700k is 460 can't really see the price of the new 9900k being anything less because that's always happened ... never and it's UK so we pretty much get the shaft on everything these days.

Sorry Intel I;ve been a loyal customer since the 386 but looks like next rig I get will be AMD based.

It'll be better than an 8700K in any workload that uses exactly 7-8 threads, worse in anything that uses 9+ threads and equal in anything that uses less. Clock for clock of course, I don't know the stock clocks off the top of my head. So it'll entirely depend on the specific workload.
