core duo only shows one core

hi there guys i had a problem with the q9450 processor iv gone back to the one i already had in which is the E6600 conroe im starting to get the same problems on this one as i had on the previous one

it only shows one core and one tread im pretty sure it wasnt like that when i took it out, i have my doubt about the bios settings, my system specs are:

p5n32-e sli
conroe E6600
geil 4x 1gb ram
evga 8800gtx
2x 300gb h/d

Have you tried doing a CMOS reset, sometimes this works

If the CMOS reset doesn't work try the method that is mentioned on post 8 in this thread. It worked for me when I went from a E8600 to a Q9550 and the Q9550 was only showing 2 cores.
