Can virtualisation be enabled on Core Duo's with a BIOS update or have intel not included it in the currently available batch?

I have a Centrino Duo laptop and it would be quite nice to have XP and linux running at the same time...

You don't need VT enabled to run both at the same time (VMWare works perfectly without VT), but it takes a lot of load off the software if it does. There have been some mixed messages about VT being enabled or not on the Core Duo - as far as I'm aware, it's enabled on the Mac Powerbooks which uses Core Duo.

EDIT: It will need a BIOS flash if it's not an option in the BIOS, after reading here: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/02/08/intel_enables_xeon_vt/ . In that case, just keep an eye out for an updated BIOS. Haven't found anything which defo says Core Duo has VT for all procs.

EDIT2: According to the VMWare forums, yes all Core Duo's support VT so it should probably be a case of a BIOS flash and away you go.
