3% Improvement at the same clock speed, not worth the extra money, still havent seen any games that make proper support of dual core and its probably a couple of years before I will.

The percentage improvement should depend heavily on the benchmark used. If the benchmarking program could be held entirely in Conroe's 4 MiB L2 cache where it did not fit in Banias's 1 MiB L2 cache, you'll see significant improvement.

Last I heard they were set for reease in August 2006. I don't know about pricing but I'd expoect Core 2 to be right about where the Core is right now.

Since Core 2 is replacing Core, I think it's be a fairly astute guess to assume that they both will cost about the same.

Core is the current generation, originally codenamed Yonah. Core 2 is the next generation, codenamed Conroe, Merom, etc.
