I am looking at building a new rig in a Shuttle SFF case I have lying about or perhaps a mini ITX case. It will be used mostly for web-browsing,word processing, watching video and some gaming.

I am looking at the 65W Core i3 2100 or the 35W Core i3 2100T as they will be easier to cool:

Is a 20% reduction in clockspeed worth it for a 30W reduction in TDP though??

If it was pure general usage and media playback, then the 2100T would be a better choice. But if you are sure you will be gaming on it, I think you would definitely be better off with the 2100.

you could buy the better one and underclock it to see if it is powerful enough, then turn it up if/ when you need it,
saves rebuilding
