Core i3 ivy bridge

Cinebench score for 3225 (3.3GHz) vs 2120 (3.3GHz) is 3.31 vs 3.19, or about a 4% increase.

Given that the fastest current SB core i3 is clocked at 3.4GHz, and so is the fastest ivy bridge chip, intel really isn't pushing any boundaries here.

It makes me wonder what the margins must be like on the 3570k, I bet they are huge. Given the number of server chips with hyperthreading they manufacture, there must be a sizeable fraction of chips with faulty HT blocks they can just sell as core i5s. So far it seems that the i3 chips are there to make the i5 look like good value.

heh i wonder whos madskillz that was^^

the chips do seem a bit boring, they could have done a 3.6 one or something it wouldnt of hurt them too much
