Core i5 3570K graphics performance benchmarks.

I saw this article:

http://en.expreview.com/2012/02/19/ivy-bridge-core-i5-3570k-engineering-sample-test/21214.html

It tests the HD4000 IGP found in a select few desktop IB models(most will have the HD2500 IGP) and a lower clocked version will appear in laptop SKUs.

On the face of it,the performance increase looked impressive.

However,I had a quick look at the reviews, and the HD3000 IGP performance figures look artificially low??

FarCry2 hits around 27FPS on 1280X800 on very high with the HD3000:

The HD3000 IGP can run Streetfighter IV at 1280X800 on the highest settings at 53FPS:

With SC2 on medium settings running at 1280X1024,the HD3000 IGP runs the game at 36FPS:

BTW,the GT240 GDDR3 is around 10% to 20% slower than the GDDR5 version which was covered by most reviews. The GDDR3 version trades blows with the HD4670 GDDR3 whereas the GDDR5 version is just behind a 9600GT.

It will be interesting to see how the HD4000 performs with faster RAM,as the test uses 1333MHZ RAM.

The performance increase is quite impressive on the IB one, this will surely kill off the need for entry-mid level cards soon.
