so i have two systems one is really spec for really heavy use blah blah blah

but then i have my gaming rig and ive been getting by for quite some time with a core i3 3220 and an AMD 7770 so i want to upgrade

upgrades so far:
core i5 3570k
16gb ram 1600mhz
EVGA superclocked GTX 770 (possible SLI setup)

do you guys recon this will be good togther? without any bottleneck? im also looking to record my games aswell with dxtory at 1080p and maybe some live streaming im not sure if the i5 will cut it for that but id rather not have to make the extra stretch for an i7 if i dont have to my wallet isnt bottomless :p lol

why exactly would i need to change the mobo? just taking a quick look at the asus site it says that this board can take 4 cards

1 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (blue) *1
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode, black)
2 x PCIe 2.0 x1
2 x PCI

A proper sli/xfire capable mobo will run at x8x8.
As you can see from their spec, the black PCIe slot only runs at x4.
And the other slots are not PCIe x16 slots, so will not take Gpus.

right ok then ugh im still new to this whole PC building thing so i dont really understand what that means but ill roll with it lol :p

can you recomend me a decent mobo then? something that will take an SLI setup properly and with good overclocking abilities because i will want to push that i5 as far as i can get away with

Have you bought the current upgrades yet?
If not, you could always upgrade to Haswell if you're getting a new motherboard?

nope i havnt bought them yet i figured i would check with you guys before making any purchases :)

i have been looking at haswell problem is the i5 4670k on just about every site is more exspensive and a decent board to go with it is more exspensive than a z77 board and all the review stuff i can find online says haswell runs hotter than ivy bridge so i wont be able to push the overclock as far
so i kind of wanna stick with ivy bridge

i have a corsair HX series 850w psu

also could recomend a decent haswell board? same deal good overclocking stuff and can run an SLI properly... i should keep haswell options open

The Asus is the cheaper sli board but not sure how good an overclocker it is.
