Is that true? Ive read a few places that will only be DDR2 Ram compatible. Seems abit stupid if it is, and pointless as DDR3 ram is a lot cheaper now and much better.

Did i read this comment wrong then.....

i5 will be mainstream and i7 is highend. The i7's will be binned higher and have more OC headroom than the i5's. Also, the i5's will use the P55 chipset and will not support triple channel memory

Last part of quote is what made me think it was not DDR3. Probably i just read it wrong. Anyway thanks for confirming load of bull.

Dumb question but whats difference between dual & triple channel:confused:

Does that mean it only takes 2gig sticks, instead of 3gig like I7?

So if i wanted 6gb of ram, i would need 3 2gb ram sticks for a I5, But for I7 i could just get 2 3gig sticks.

Is that it:o

Triple Channel would be 3 x 2Gb Sticks

Dual Channel would be 4 or 8Gb for Dual Channel. Of course could do 2 x 2Gb and 2 x 1Gb sticks to get 6Gb. This however would be 4 sticks not 3.

Good luck trying to find a 3Gb Stick.
