core i7 3770 Mobo replacement

Hi All

Just helping my brother out here, He has an out of warranty Dell XPS machine which shipped with the core i7 3770 and 8GB of RAM.

Its more than enough for his needs and I wanted to re-use this, the GPU and Memory to give it a new lease of life

However looking for 1155 mobo's doesnt seem very successful so far, unless I want dirt cheap business and basic boards

Does anyone know of any around on the market that would fit the bill

There are no Z77 boards instock (not even Bgrade or used etc).

2nd hand is all I can suggest.

I bagged a ROG Maximus V Gene on an auction site 2 weeks ago for £70.
Not really any help to you though, just showing off !
Seriously though, there are some decent boards available but the price is on the way up now as it's vintage.

Yes, but if it hasn't had a BIOS update then its dead in the water.

could go h77 or b75 motherboards aswell provided the chip isn't a k chip and no overclocking needed
