What have people managed to get on their i7 920 systems at stock voltage so I can compare. I'm interested in keeping it at stock for power consumption reasons.

So far I've managed 3.36GHz with 21 multiplier but I would have thought it could get to 3.5-3.6 (fairly new at this)?

running on P6T Deluxe V2 and Cosair Dominator 6Gb.

I would up you vcore to 1.18. That gave me a stable 3.8ghz with temps never getting over 73c. Of course the temps would not even come close to that unless I was running prime95. 1.18 is not too much of an increase either.

I thought stock voltage for i7 was 1.2v? Thats what I've got mine at at the moment. I'll try reducing it and see what happens.

At the moment my idle temps are around 40c and max 67c after a couple of hours of prime.

I thought stock volts were like 1.12 or something like that. my qpi vcore was 1.1, till I upped to 1.25, But I don't think it made any difference.

Looking around online, the default voltage for the 920 is 1.2v, I'm impressed you got yours to 3.8GHz at 1.18.

Mine gives me BSOD as soon as I start prime when im at 1.3v so I needed to up it to 1.35v to get it stable (although I've not done more then a couple of hours prime at this setting yet).

Wow, my first boot, at stock had the vcore @ 1.1. I'm rock solid stable @ the 1.18vcore. I can get 4.0 stable @ 1.2875vcore, but temps will max out @ 83c, which I wasn't thrilled about so I went back down to 3.8.

I've setup one of my bios profiles for 3.0Ghz on my i7 920, at only 1.00v loaded. Use this when i'm surfing mainly
but its great even at this speed for gaming! Prime stable too. Idle temp is 32/34/34/32c

If you don't mind me asking what's your multi and Qpi settings? and at what speed is your ram running?

I moved down to 1.18v and still ok at 3.36GHz. Will go a bit further but i'd also be interested in other settings like QPI? My XMP profile sets it to 1.35v as default.

I run 15 x 200 for 3.0Ghz/QPI Link is at 3600mhz (Auto in bios). HT - Disabled. Ram is at 1600Mhz
8-8-8-24 1T....speedstep is enabled so the multiplier goes down further when idle.
All taken from cpu-z.
