Core & Mem Full Usage Nvidia Geforce Experience

Hi Guys

Have an issue every so often where my core and memory would be locked at full usage according to afterburner.

I have traced this down to the geforce experience app. Every time I start it, my mem and core go fully max and stay there, using a G1 970.

Anyone had this bug before. Tried disabling shadowplay first, but it only works when I disable shadowplay fully. Unfortunately I quite like the recording facility.

Thanks

I have determined geforce experience settings for me change almost every time I open the darned application. (some times gtav shows as 1920x1080 other times it says my optimal is 4k other times it's anywhere in between)

What I believe is happening is that the application each time you open it tests your max core clock maybe also using gpu boost 2.0 before deciding on the optimal settings.

I have confirmed this using gpu-z and opening and closing the app

although my core and mem clock only max out for 5-10 seconds then go back to idle.

maybe you have a crapton of games installed, I only have 3

Cheers Arknor.

Does you mem and core stay maxxed out, or do they go back to idle. Even on the desktop mine are maxxed out.

I can see it happening using Afterburner.

this is what gpu shows happening when I open gegorce experience

I opened it once then again about 30 seconds later

Maybe you have geforce set to auto optimise your games? or something

I've got recommend optimal settings but the 2 options below it unticked.

you could try just disabled the recommend optimal settings if your already set the same as me which I imagine stops the app maxing your clocks out

Geforce Junk!!! Delete it and play your games.

Junk indeed, if I set optimal settings for GTA V using Geforce experience the game will crashe to desktop after the first intro video with a d3ddevice lost error in the log file lol.

yet the game works fine when I just set every gtav setting to max with 4k dsr, god knows what the nvidia program is attempting with it's optimals that prevents the game from even loading

100% Agree.. I installed Nvidia GeForce Experience once and within 10 minutes uninstalled it and never installed it again and same applies to AMD Gaming Evolved (Raptr). More rubbish that auto runs and takes up system resources for very little gain and in most cases all it does is create headaches.
