core speed changing to 1838 MHz in CPU-Z (E6700)

Just used the Asus Ai Booster to overclock by 15% but when I look in CPU-Z the clock speed fluctuates from 3064MHz to 1838MHz and the multiplier switches from 6 to 10. Any ideas why this is? Aida32 shows CPU at 3066MHz so is this just a weird quirk. I notice that Ai Booster shows the stock clock speed at a lower speed to what it should be as well

Sounds like you might need to disable Speedstep in the BIOS. When your CPU is idle it slows its clockspeed right down.

EIST and Speedstep are still running as the Don has told you, trust!!

If you've had an Intel rig and Asus mobo befor you'll know not use Ai really to oc!

Go to the bios knock it off and then try again!

it's a cool feature but i like 100% power all the time!

Well it's definitely showing as disabled in the bios, is there anything else I need to change that might be keeping it running?

Yeah I thought that might be the case with Ai, but it's my first sytem build and my first attempt at overclocking so I thought I'd go for the easy/safe route to start off with.

Not off top of my head! I have asked a few at XS that run this bord to see what they say and they all says it's not working!

Have you tired a newer bios incase it didn;t flash right?

I'm on 0901 at the moment, is 0903 stable?
