Last year I (with the help of Santa) built a couple of gaming rigs for two of our horde. Inevitably another of our horde, having eyed his brothers rigs with envy for the last 12 months, now wants one of his own.

I'm therefore looking to source the core components for a new system, roughly spending the same as I did last year.

This little lot came to £565 12 months ago, and clocked up to 4GHz with almost no effort at all:
  • £105 - Motherboard - MSI Z68A-GD55-G3
  • £165 - CPU - Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor
  • £165 - Video - Asus GeForce GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1024MB
  • £75 - PSU - Antec TruePower New Modular 750W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply
  • £30 - RAM - Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
  • £25 - Cooler - Gelid Tranquillo CPU Cooler

Things moving on (as they do) I'd like to seek advice on what components I should be looking at now for the same price. Presumably the Intel Core i5 3570K would be a good starting point, so I just need to identify suitable candidates for motherboard, GPU, PSU, RAM and motherboard. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Much obliged Fire_fly. I've already got a Crucial M4 SSD lined up for it, but was wondering (should have mentioned this before really) whether to build it with SLI in mind as I did with the previous rigs.
