Recently I have found out that CoreTemp 0.99 and RealTemp 2.7 are giving out different readings of the cores. So I went into the BIOS and check the CPU temperature considering BIOS should be the "honest" source of readings.

Confirmed that RealTemp's reading is exactly the same as that reported from the BIOS. Yet incidentally found out that the readings reported by CoreTemp which usually is 6 to 7 degrees higher, is the same as that of the motherboard as reported by BIOS.

So can I conclude that CoreTemp = Motherboard;s temperature (including North Bridge and the CPU) where as RealTemp = CPU temperature alone?

Tried Realtemp 2.90? Depends on the cpu Tjmax, reads 5C higher than 2.70 on mine. Coretemp and Realtemp are using the same data. Just variations in the programmers interpretation.

Its because I think Coretemp has the tj max set as 105 while realtemp has it set as 100. If you set both to be the same then they would show the same value.
