For some reason core temp will not display my CPU temp correctly

coretemp.jpg

It is a laptop with an Intel Core 2 Duo P7450

Temp is displayed as 23oC no matter how much load I place on the processor!

Any ideas? I tried real temp as well and it has the same problem

Does exactly the same on my laptop as well mate, though mines even cooler :P

No idea whay and never found a fix for it :(

Both stuck, doubtful?

I dont think they are stuck anyway because if I turn the machine off and on again then load core temp the readings are different but still frozen

I do have a stuck temp sensor on my Q9950 but that reads 40/29/29/29 and when you place it under load they read 50/50/50/50 so the stuck one still goes up under load... this wont do that.

These readings are totally frozen, not moving up or down.

Maybe try Real Temp and do the 'sensor test' - you will need Prime95 installed too. Could also try the 0.99.5 beta just in case...

Like I said in the original post I have tried real temp and had the same issue... also that was the 0.99.5 beta

Have you tried the sensor test in real temp? Sorry, only saw 0.99.4 in the latter two screenies :)

Yes I tired the sensor test and the temps remaind static throughout the test... not going up or down... which is odd as even stuck sensors will move one way and then back to their stuck reading

I rebooted and tried again and same happened but the temp reading was frozen at a new value this time

Maybe try speedfan in the hope that someone has a decent config. file for your mobo that you can grab, but I wouldn't hold out too much hope.

If no luck, no harm in trying a couple of other temp progs just in case - i.e. Everest, etc.
