Hi guys New to OC and have a stable oc with 3.5 ghz on QC 6600.

I was wondering is there a way to turn off the power save mode as
core temp only shows the true frequency under load and idle it drops to
stock.

For example I'll run prime and monitor core temps where the freq shoots to 3500 then idles to 2333 mhz can I change this some where so it's 3500 all the time or is it built into the CPU

thanks guys

thanks for the response

I found the C1E but not E1ST, I did however look around and the only thing
I found that might be related was INTEL SPEEDSTEP (let OS decide CPU ENABLED Let defualt speed DISABLED)

I disabled them both - frequencies ok now.

Is that ok?

Thanks

Yep. EIST is Enhanced Intel Speedstep Technology. :)

If you have a stable 3.5Ghz overclock, why would you want to disable speedstep?

The CPU ramps up to full speed as soon as it is needed anyway.

You may as well take advantage of the small power saving it offers?
