just had coretemp shut my pc down as it stated core 1 hit critical temp 100c ..... is it possible that coretemp misread or my cpu is a bit screwy ? :confused:
 
Strange, I would double check if the heatsink fan is ok and perhaps any dust, then reboot and double check with HW monitor or Everest.
 
Yeah its all fine now just did it in the middle of a game ........... I played again afterwards no problem which is why I wondered if coretemp had flipped out or if there was anyway a core could get really hot for a moment ............ cant think of any reason why :(

edit now coretemp didnt report anything and abit eq was fine but as soon as i started speed fan it claimed over 100c again :(
