About 2 weeks ago, i got a asus formula crosshair IV motherboard and a 550BE to go in it. I decided to overclock and open up cores. I managed to get it running on 0,1,2 core's with core 3 deciding to freeze my pc on windows startup. (i take it this means it wont unlock?) I overclocked it using the multiplier alone and got it to 3.6ghz with 1.4v. Everything has been running as it should be untill i turned it on this morning.

I got the error message that the overclock could not work with asus core unlocker. Now ive been running overclocked and tri core for 2 weeks with no problem, is this a problem with the cpu deciding it wont unlock that core or is my motherboard being a pain?

It works fine in duel core, but unlock the 3rd core and have my settings how they were say yesterday and it refuses to boot.

Also anyone have any idea's why the bios randomly likes putting my bus speed from 200mhz to 233mhz booting my overclock to a very unstable 4ghz? This happens everytime i enable or disable core unlocker.

Any help would be appreciated as i'm stumped why it's decided not to work as it used too after just 2 weeks use.

It doesn't sound like the cores are stable. More often than not they're locked for a reason. How did you test the stability when you first clocked it?

i done 10 hours of prime, however ive been playing a lot of dirt2 and bbc2 with no problems, just today when i turned the computer on. It seemed stable before, just today i get this problem
