Guess i really don't know much about Intel CPU's!!

My E2180 was recording high temps at idle; 55+

I then saw on here you have to put the thermal compound on the CPU then close the heatspreader down? Is that right? What i did was put the compound on the heatspreader!!! :rolleyes:

Do you then put the compound on the top of the heatspreader?

What a plebb!!!

Looking at some pics i seen, you are supposed to put the compound on the inside of the heatspreader and then clamp it down onto the CPU? Right?

So, only a thin amount on the CPU? Nothing on the bottom of the heatsink?
