hi, my dad does a lot of videoediting. he currently has a 2.2GHz dual core system and finds it a tad slow. i have 2 setups i am currently looking to get rid of, my E5200, 4GB DDR800 and my Q8300, 4GB DDR1066 and was wondering is videostudio optimized to utilise the quad core, or would he not notice much gains over the E5200 and Q8300?
cheers.

Make that 10 seconds, you lazy git.

New Optimization for Intel® Quad-Core Technology - VideoStudio Pro X2 now supports Intel® quad-core technology, enhanced for both dual-core and quad-core CPUs. For users this means faster response times and less time spent waiting for encoding which is especially useful when working with HD video.

yeah i found that it is would be optimized for both, but my thing was, will you notice it between the dual and quad?
so rather than taking something the company has produced, which does not mean in the real world is right, it would be better to no from someone who actually uses it.

Well, cant help you there Im afraid, but:

In VideoStudio X2, Corel also optimized its usage of dual-core and quad-core CPU systems. We noticed our dual-core system was more responsive and encoded faster than our Pentium 4 3GHz system. A great new feature found in both standard and pro versions of VideoStudio X2.

Seems to suggest the jump from 1 to 2 was noticable.. Not sure if that really means anything from 2-4, but Id of thought hed see some sort of improvement.
