Cores Getting Too Hot

I've noticed that lately my PC has begun to give off a lot more heat than usual. I've run Real Temp and while at startup the cores are around the 60 - 70 range, right now there sitting at about 80 across all 4 cores after trying a game for about 5 - 10 minutes, and there basically sitting idle, though the temperate is gradually going down again.

I was playing one of the Prince of Persia games earlier and I actually had to restart as the temp actually soared into 100 on one core and was in the high 90s for the others.

What could be causing this and how to I resolve it? I'm worried about using my PC for anything resource intensive in case I fry it.

Are you using the CPU in your sig? what cooling are you using on it?

Hardware will run a lot hotter at the moment due to much higher ambient temps (though yours are on the overly hot side), if you're using the CPU in your sig are you running with that OC and have you tried removing it?

Could use a few more details really, I'm assuming the fans and what not are still running okay and you've sufficient air flow through the case?

What cpu cooler do you have?

I.... dont know :o

Huuuuh?

The fans all seem to be working fine. There was some dust on the ones on the top of the case. I cleaned they as best as I could, though I dont think its made much of a difference.
