Just downloaded coretemp as i thought i'd see what its like...

Apparently core 0 is at 34...and core 1 is it 24 =/

Thats a nice gap between the two, is this normal? The cpu in question in a 4400+ Toledo core...At stock.

well my opteron 175 (same as 4400+ really) is similar sort of temps.

I know one core is going to be slightly hotter due to being used more but I'm not sure if thats too accurate to be honest.

Unless you live in the Arctic I very much doubt you have 24C on air.

What motherboard do you have? I know the DFI LanParty UT boards we're up to 10C out with their CPU temp reporting.

A difference it temps between cores is fairly common on X2's. Nothing much to worry about afaik.

I've had two X2 4200's and both have had a large temp difference. 1st one was showing a gap of 3c@idle and 11-14c@load. Current one is 10-12c at idle and load.

don't forget this is the core temp not the cpu temp :)

The board in question is an Asus A8n-sli Deluxe...

And no i dont live in the artic =P

Well you say core temp...on things like Smartguardian and ai booster it says the cpu is at 34c also...soooooo? I was just wondering thats all.

Not to worry, just seemed odd :)

Aren't core temps hotter than the CPU temp generally? I am going by the temps of an Intel chip though this might be different.
