Corn Lice in Monitor Screen

I have a 19" Viewsonic monitor (VX924) and last night I saw a single tiny black corn louse crawling about inside the screen. It was under the glass but on top of the graphics. Tonight it is stationary so probably has died but I can still see it as a tiny black mark on the screen.

Is there any way to get this out and is this a faulty monitor that would allow an insect to enter the screen area? I would have thought that this area was a sealed unit.

I have developed a few little hazy spots that take up about 4 pixels under the screen. I don't know what these are or if anything can be done about them but I think if I RMA it the company I send it to may not see the problem and I would have wasted a lot of money posting the monitor.

I had one in my VX922 it moved around when i played Battlefield 2 and it was SOOOOO Annoying

It eventualy crawled to the top of the screen, into the black area.

I havn't seen it since :)

It's in there ... still. :)

Are these aka Thunderbugs?

either way.. Thunderbugs are attracted to the light, so when i got one in mine.. which i thought had died.. which i was very sad about.. i still tried the method of putting a torch onto the corner and leaving it overnight..

sure enough come the morning.. the bug was gone.. and the torch was needing new batteries..

The little blobs on my screen don't photograph and they are hard to see but they are there and they bug me. You reckon I could RMA the monitor for this?

Get a screenprint? ;)

I read an article recently that says the bugs (and yes, they really are bugs!) must get in there during the manufacturing process in order to get stuck in between the screen. It's not possible (at least according to the article) for them to get in once the unit has been sealed ready for shipping. IF I can find it, I'll post a link to it.

I thought they were taking the p!ss at first!

edit: Didn't find the article, bhut found another thread on here about it - bugs in the screen

It's not funny and I shouldn't laugh - sorry. :) :p  :D

No way this got in during the maufacturing process and has been hiding and surviving since last September when I bought the new monitor, then suddenly appear at the same time as corn lice outdoors appear!

It has managed to get inside the screen area recently and has been inconsiderate enough to die right in the middle of the screen!

I had one of these a few weeks ago and turned the monitor off and used a CRT for the meantime.

Took about 48hrs for it to go off completely, but I didn't want to risk using it and having it dying in the middle

Friend of mine had one crawl across inside his, he thought it was on the outside and squashed it, so it's kinda stuck there now :(
