Spent most of last weekend down at Porth Nanven in West Cornwall - quite possibly one of the most beautiful places in Britain. Annoyingly my batteries died just as the sunset was in full blaze, but here's a few I got before that happened.

I'm planning on going back soon to reshoot, so any comments on what does and doesn't work would be appreciated!

More to come when I get around to processing them...

Wow - amazing pictures! - i must say i like 2,3 and 6 (love the colours!).

Just out of interest where abouts is this place (Porth Nanven), whats is it near? Cant seem to find it on maps? - looking to go down to Cornwall in later this month and would love to visit that place.

Thanks.

Thanks! Its at the bottom of a tiny lane that runs west from St Just on the north coast. There's nothing there except a couple of houses, and then some parking above the beach.

2, 7 and 8 for me, though they're all absolutely cracking! What lens were you using for these - I take it the 10-20?

These shots really remind me of some shots by Joe Cornish, who's a great landscape photographer. Gallery here.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

A.N. - Yeah all with the Sigma 10-20. And I think the Joe Cornish comparison is possibly the nicest (and also most foolish!) thing anyone has ever said to me! :p

Mega - I'll see what I can do for you tomorrow, I'm getting more into photography at the minute and I'm not entirely sure whether I want to keep releasing full-size images. Internet paranoia etc :(

LOL it's a pleasure. And the comment wasn't entirely unfounded either - some of those shots (esp. 7) really wouldn't look out of place amongst some of his beach work - like this one.

Sorry, I'm going to be a bit of a meanie and keep the full-size images to myself :(

I'm starting an MSc in Biological Photography next year and may actually have to start thinking about marketing some of my images at some point. Version control and copy protection are things I need to start thinking about.

Sorry! Thanks for asking :)

Are you doing that at Nottingham? Sounds like an interesting course.

Benneh - 6 and 10 were taken using a Hoya Pro 1 CPL filter, all the others were using a B+W 10 stop ND filter.
