Hi all,

hope you guys can give me some advice. I work in as IT Admin in a local Travel Agency. I've just about finished setting up our four new Proliant servers and was wondering what is a good corporate backup sortware to use where I can create image clones of the servers and also restore these images. I have tried symantec Ghost but wasn't too happy with it.

Any other suggestions?

To be honest - Ghost does the job nicely for us...

Alteris is the one we use for our desktops which you may want to look into.
Supports booting via PXE so you can build the server remotely...

Never used Backup Exec for images... One of the better backup proggies tho. (compared to ArcServe anyway!)

thanks for the advice guys.

The problem I had with Symantec Ghost was that I was having troubles restoring the ghost image from a USB DVD-ROM. If i created the Boot CD without the CD/DVD rom drivers then it loaded up fine but it wouldn't detect the USB DVDROM, but if i created the Boot CD/DVD with CD/DVD rom drivers, Symantec Ghost just crashes on the startup screen.

hence why i was asking for any other suggestions :/ Ill give one of the others a try
