But wouldn't it be viable to make laptops use oled screens now that they've started to roll out. I mean it would make it a hell of a lot easier for using outside with its clear colours and infinite contrast and it'd be a nice bonus for those who use it for editing/photography etc.

Aye, it'd definately be better in way of battery life and colours, but the problem comes down to cost. Most people aren't willing to pay an extra £1000 (or more) for a thinner, more colourful screen. As OLED becomes cheaper, I'd imagine it'll actually become popular in high end laptops before TVs/Monitors, however at the moment it's so damned expensive for a full colour model, that it's not going to be worth it, even for 75% of the enthusiast/power buyers.

Theres also the issue of display lifespan atm.

Aww ShingPooNaBoomEeeeeeTaa

cause im wanting to invest in a laptop and would rather hold out for oleds, depending on how long it takes, i don't want to waste investing in current lcds, i've been keeping an eye on Oled for a while and my previous lappy jus went bust outta warranty.

But yh using an Oled as a monitor and on a Macbook Pro would be humbly appriciated, scratch that itd be ****** AWESOME
