Correct performace

Hi all, i have a Q600 @ 3GHZ stock volts.
I have a stock 8800GTX
Im running a Ip35 board

Now my mate has the same setup but a 680I chipset... and stock CPU

In Counterstrike Source FPS test he gets 50 more than me?

Can this be down to the board or have i got some old drivers in the mix somwhere?

its the only fps he has tried so far... i was just amazed at the difference.
I get a steady (ish) 30 in Crysis with nearly everything on V high so im still happy but 50 frames is a big difference isnt...?

Could jsut be that he has his settings in the game set a bit differently to you -things such as AA, etc.

Nah we both running the same res and the same AA/AF/HDR everything is on max..

And definitely same settings in NVidia control panel?

What do you get if you run your CPU at stock?

Edit: stock speed that is, not voltage.

yea all at stock in Nvidia control panel - well thats *** he tells me.

CPU at stock - not tried it but all i have done is up the FSB on the mem to 333x9 should help it if anything i woulda thought?

Unless its not getting enough juice... dunno. Worth a try at least, as it will only take a few minutes to set to default and test.

Ok at stock i get the same result, i got him to run 3dmark last night... he scored 13854 i got 12456 ? WTF is going on.

Only diff is the chipset and that im using ultimate and he is using x64 basic.

Would the OS cause this?

Hmmm comparing my score to other on 3dmark - my driver version is -

6.14.11.6921

everyone else has 7.15.11.6375

but 7.15.11.6375 are the 169.21 which is what i inatlled before i ran 3dmark!

Is the a driver cleaner for Nvidia cards? I used to use driver cleaner for ATI can i use that?

Sorry i mean the same as in around the same 3dmark - the cpu score is up but still in the 12000 + not in the 13000 the only OC i have is the mem from 300 up to 333

3dmark is more gpu inst it? thats why i think it may by GPU drivers??

Try uninstalling, then restart, then run driver cleaner, then restart adn install latest drivers.

Guys - im really sorry the "mate" is a idiot he has fabricated the numbers.

In acctual fact his 3dmark is in the 11XXX really dont see the point in that but hey ho, least my system is working as it should @ stock, i have also seen on the 3dmark sight that @ stock mine seems pritty much on the money.

So now just to OC & tweak the hell outa of it. A lot of peolpe are getting 15K on the kit i have so i aim to get 15K hopfuly
