Hi all..

Running a 64/4000 skt 939 on a asus a8n-e mobo.Recently the pc's been running slow and,as i only had 1g of ddr400 memory thought maybe another gig would be a good upgrade.I managed to get hold of 2x512 ddr4 corsair pro.I now have 2x512 corsair pro and 2x512 corsair value select fitted.
After using my pc for over a week now i haven't noticed a great improvement,if any, from before.I've downloaded cpu-z and the following made me wonder??

frequency -100.7 mhz
fsb.dram-cpu24

Is the frequency correct??

cpu at stock settings btw

thanks all

I'm afraid that's the way it is.

DDR needs 2 modules, and generally won't work with 4.

Huh?

Four sticks will run fine at 2T on 939 boards.

Dude go into your BIOS and change the RAM divider to 1:1. That should bring it upto speed.

Didn't realise it'd do it at 2T on 939.

In any case, 4 sticks won't do the same timings as 2 sticks.

2T will come under Command Rate in the memory timings section.

IIRC the RAM divider options were 200 (1:1), 166, 133 and 100mhz. But they may have been 400 (1:1), 333, 266 and 200.

It's been a while.

Sorry to be noob

i can find memclock index value which makes sense with what you are saying-is this the one?
currently is at 200 but will go to 400 etc-not yet tried it though.

Yip 200 sounds right for your memory only running at 100 in CPU-Z.

Set it to 400 and cross your fingers.

I haven't tried 400 yet but just went into lotro online to test.Usually when i go into a large town/busy area my hdd goes crazy loading and then throws me to the desktop, anyway,it did the same!!
Maybe its cause i have a 8800gtx with an out of date setup??
