Correct VGA adapter for white Macbook

I have a colleague's white Macbook (Macbook 3,1/Intel Core 2 Duo/Mac OS X 10.5.8) and I've been asked to make sure that it connects to our wireless network and that it can connect to my colleague's VGA projector in his classroom for September. Would I be right in thinking that the adapter below is the correct one to connect this Macbook to a VGA projector?

that is the correct part, i have the same for my macbook 2011 c2d
p.s - does not have the be an apple adapter

Yeah I've found an equivalent adapter for £7.51 ex VAT from what is surely a competitor to OcUK so I won't mention the name but I've got to buy some parts from them anyway so the adapter will be half the cost Apple want and I'll only be paying for delivery on one order rather than two.

just go on a generic auction site. You can pick them up for a couple of quid
