After running a few Mantle and DX benchmarks with the PerfOverlay.FrameFileLogEnable command the results are somewhat mind boggling.

What is the correlation between CPU and GPU frametimes aswell as the frametime numbers?

Here are a few graphs I did for DA:I

You're looking for spikes and how straight the line is, the straighter the line and less spikes the better .

Overlaying multiple GPU's in the same graph is not a good idea as it becomes one tangled mess.

The lower the better (as it's ms) and the straighter the lines but your tests are CPU based and the frame times are calculated as comparible FPS which is wrong imo as its frame latency (time between frames), this has been discussed before I know and the best method is actually FCAT as its run from further down the chain.

All the results FRAPS,PerfOverlay and FLA are from the engine.

Just some advice for the future, more and bigger graphs are always better. It's quite hard to read the data from the graphs and draw conclusions.

Of course the other solution would be for someone not affiliated in any way with the website to link people to the original article with more and higher res graphs.

Thanks Disco_P I've stopped linking as per mods request, anyway the point was how to use and interpret the data in a meaningful way.

I know about that and I kinda understand why they had to stop people prompting their own things when they don't contribute to the discussion.

But in this case it's mutually beneficial for everyone to have access to the originals.
