Hi everyone,
I have lots of data saved on an External 300GB Harddrive, including movies and photos. I regularly move files to and from my internal harddrive to it.
I recently came across several folders to which i couldnt delete, and on inspection found a very confusing set of files.
I have several folders which claim to be 3.53TB in size, each with contents of unknown filetype. The files have names which resemble wierd characters, such as Box characters, Sigma and Ohms symbols. Most confusing is that the files claim to have a date modified of 23/03/2029.
Obviously these are corrupt files, and I have tried my best to research what I can do about it. Unfortunately, I havent been successful in finding a solution, so I turn to your help, for possible solutions.
Firstly, the drive Format is FAT32. This is the format that the product was received in, and have never known the need to change it. I have however read that maybe for a 300GB drive, this is totally the wrong format, as opposed to NTFS. But it isnt an option to reformat just yet.
I have a lot of valuable data on the drive currently, with no spare drive of this capacity to backup to... otherwise I would have transfered and reformatted the disc, as an easy solution.
My question to you all is, how can I remove these corrupt folders from the drive, without a reformat of the whole drive? Is it possible with any software solutions?
Kind regards,
wilf3102
