Corrupt files

Hi all,

I have a friend who seems to have a lot of corrupt files? It seems almost everything he downloads becomes corrupt? I have no idea why, I was thinking it could be memory but I dont know.

He bought a "Titan Vantage" AMD Athlon 64 3500+ System (FS-004-OK) about 1month ago so its brand new. The first thing I tried to install on it (since I set it up for him, OcUK pre-installed windows for him) was firefox.

He needs help because he really wants to playing CoD2 1.3 but can't as he cannot execute the patch >.<

All help appreciated.

Get him to download memtest and use that.

Sounds EXACTLY like bad ram.

Is it an nforce 4 board in there? heard of lots of similar problems with the hardware firewall. If it is nforce 4 turn off the firewall!

Yep its nForce 4. I'll tell him and see if that helps.
