Hi all

After a weekend away my girlfriend tried to copy the photos from her digital camera to find it had corrupted some of them. I managed to fix a few by doing an auto level in Paint .Net but some don't want to play and really I have no idea what I'm doing. Below is a link to one that is duff, can anyone help try to make this picture back to it's original colours?

Thanks in advance

Do you have the pics from before and after that shot (i00073 and i00075)? In the preview I can see that it is a person standing in front of a building (appears to be red and might need some color correction), but when opening it is a Visa and visitmoffat plaque. The image size doesn't match up, either. There might be a way to merge in the other photos to fill in the missing data.

edit: this is how it opens in PS:

This is what I get when deleting some of the corrupt header in Notepad++:

So I suspect some of the header information might be in the previous photo.

That could be the photo after this one. I'll ask her to send the ones before and after. It looks like they've been 'split' at the wrong points perhaps?

I'm sorry. I couldn't do much more with it. Even these so-called "JPEG recovery" programs thought it was absolutely fine.

With notepad, all I did was trim off some of the top of the hex code hoping that Photoshop would "rebuild" it. Seems all I did was tell it that the file wasn't a jpeg and it used the embedded thumbnail view instead. So no, I don't have any tricks there.

Sorry mate.
