Corrupt POST screen?

OK, I already knew my motherboard was dying, but I've never seen anything like this before!

Weird-looking version of the POST screen with extra-large fonts, graphical artefacts and no Award or Energy Star logo. It stuck there until I rebooted.

The weird thing is that it subsequently booted normally.

Anyone else ever had anything like that?

Hmmm.... Are you using onboard graphics?

I've had strange post screens with dying GFX cards nothing like that with a dying mobo tho

Pretty sure it's not the card though, there's no reason for it to get stuck at POST screen for 5 consecutive attempts to boot because of a broken graphics card! This corruption only happened on the 5th attempt, and it booted ok on the 6th. The system's history (see linked-to threads) suggests it can only be the motherboard, particularly as it happens whether the CPU is at stock or oc'ed.
