Corrupt video file

My memory card says I have used 3.7GB of 4GB, which is supposed to be one single video. On the memory card I have a 1.86GB .avi file, where my camera has snipped the video to keep the file sizes manageable, but the second video is only 0kb big, and is corrupt. And there is a temp file called index0. But the data must be on the memory card as it is shown 3.7GB used of 4GB. Any ideas how to access the second video?

Can you just copy the index0 file to a PC, rename it to .avi and see if it works? Or just drag it into VLC and let it have a go at figuring it out.

Thanks guys. It doesn't let me rename the file or move it, saying that "an unexpected error is keeping me from copying the file... The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable"

I just tied Media info but it said the same thing, that the file was corrupt and to use chkdsk.

Buy a new memory card, make sure it's form a legit source and not from an ebay or Amazon seller. They make very convincing fakes.

You could try 'unstoppable copier' to copy the file from the card to your PC. It doesn't use Explorer to do the copy, so often ignores errors that Explorer can't handle.

It's not a video file, it's a temp file.
1.86x2=3.72
It was probably used to create a space for the avi that is already on there and wasn't deleted properly afterwards.
