Hi,

Recently been having an issue with my 2009 corsa whereby if it's been sat a few days or started in the cold the speedometer and the rev counter seem to "rattle" when starting the car. I'm assuming this is a battery issue? It's still running the original battery from new. If so could someone recommend me a decent battery to replace it with? There seem's be a lot of difference in price etc so any advice would be great! I've attached a video below, thanks!

2009 battery get it changed, once the cold does set in you will become stuck somewhere, we had a really cold night last week, the wife's car always been fine then boom would not start, bought a new battery without checking what one was in it, then came to fit the new one and the battery in the car was tiny and the wrong one plus the CCA was only 300 which is shocking, so now she has a big battery and 580CCA so no probs starting in the cold.

these are very good

Thanks guys, think I will just change it just not sure which one to go for. The dials are fine when its warm or if its been used for a few days so I can only assume it's that.

a failing battery can do weird things to a car.
what's the variant of the car i will see what battery you need, or just look at what's in the car now.

eurocarparts
carparts4less

Chuck your reg in, buy something like a Bosch battery with the most warranty (typically 4 or 5 years) -check the homepage for money off voucher codes.

Picked up a Bosch battery for £49 delivered the other day.

They tend to die after 4-10 years.

Thanks, I did look on eurocar parts but what's the difference between them? Some say (12) some say (63)? It's a 1.2 petrol. Thanks

012 and 063 are the form factor of the battery from what I understand - e.g., width/height/depth. Obviously you need one that fits in your car but you may find several fit - I think 012 and 063 are very similar so maybe that's why you're seeing both.

Carparts4less are the same company as eurocarparts just a bit cheaper, however if you live near a eurocarparts branch you can just reserve online and pick it up; it's cheaper than going into the store to buy it directly.

Protip: eurocarparts has 15% cashback on top cash back at the moment but I believe you have to have it delivered to qualify (free anyway).

Personally I'd get the Bosch S4, I've used them on two cars and they're never faulted me.

You cam reserve and collect using online code for eurocarparts. I got 15% off my Bosch s5 on Monday as my civic wouldn't start, it is 08 plate

Just to update that I got a Bosch S4 battery from ECP for £38 after the discount code (15%) and installed this morning, car is back from the dead! It finally died on me the other day :) Thanks again guys!
