Corsa VXR *facepalm*

I don't know you, but a 182 at 17 is not a wise combination.

I remember when I was 17 and I was a complete **** even in a Ford KA. I dread to think what I'd be like in a powerful car like that.

Would you be able to get insured on a 182 at 17?

Sorry, I should have exspanded on what I said :) I do want an 182, but I won't be getting that for my first car, my insurance would just throttle me :p Looking for a punto my self for my first car :)

Like I said, its each to their own, I've always wanted a Clio 182, im only 16, soon 17 but that the car I want :D Can pick up a decent one for about £6k :D That will give me enough fun ;)

Most 16 year olds would get suckered in by the VXR's crappy ricer styling cues and let a true performance car like the 182 pass them by. So for that, you are above average

A 14k petrolheads car will probably have potential running costs that are much higher than a Corsa VXR.

I've driven in spirit on some decent roads with a Corsa VXR and it help up very well against my CTR. I also think they're not a bad looking car. It's not exactly a faded red Corsa B diesel for 14k here is it? I'd expect them to bit a bit more attractive at ~10k in the second hand market though, 14k is probably too much.

I can imagine the corse to have decent running costs inc tax and insurance. The OPs brother may have too many claims to justify something slightly more hot like a CTR or DC5 which can be a nightmare to insure in the wrong area. It's all subjective, but I'd rather buy a 14k Corsa than lease a 30k car for the sake of showing people how ambitious I am.

27 years old and wants a Corsa?

I don't care if its rocket powered and gives you fellatio everytime you drive it. 27 years old and wanting a Corsa is pathetic. Does he have no ambition, no aspirations, no desire to further himself?

His previous, and first, car was also a Corsa, 1.0 02 plate mind.

Not going to go into his personal details, but he's generally not changed much in his life for the last 7 years.

Why would you want a Punto?

I don't know tbh :( I've been looking around and I actually like the look of the Fiant Punto, 5 door, bog standard. I was looking at a v reg clio for the same price, but i'm sure the insurance would be higher, I just want somthing that isn't a boy racers car. I know its still a hatch back, but you don't really see many punto's owned by bels :)

Its not that bad tbh, they have bags of performance, look ok, and are cheap to run for the amount of go they have. If you want a new, cheap, hot hatch you could do worse.

ya corsa VXR are not that bad.. true 14k is a LOT of money...

i still remember my lap with Chilton around Oulton Park in a Corsa VXR, clearly he could shift that thing faster than i could get round in a Monaro or something! seemed to have great handling and a willingness to pitch almost onto 2 wheels...

i mean id never buy a NEW car unless i was living on a huge wad of cash but still there are much worse cars out there.

Ever think that it might be his aspiration to own a VXR Corsa?

In other news, people are different.

Yet it still get's to 60 faster with a greater top speed.

I'd rather have the keener and more nimble car, I doubt many people over the age of 12 actually care about 0-60 times and top speeds. Anyway, I'll be thrashing a Corsa VXR around Thruxton in July, so we'll see how good it is then :)

**edit**

The Corsa VXR does 0-60 0.1s quicker and has the greater top speed by 1 MPH, WOW!

The Corsa VXR is a fun little car. Looks pretty nice and won't cost a lot to run.

That said, for £14.5k you wouldn't find me anywhere near one.
